In some places, a piece of toast is little more than a slice of bread warmed over.

In St. Elsewhere, toast and bread are different things.

When the time comes for toast, we like ours burned. When a slice of bread is chosen for toast, we let it toast until it becomes dark and crunchy. We baptize our bread with flame. When you eat Elsewherian toast, you know you're eating it, and you are purified by proxy.

Of course, toast is also a delivery mechanism for butter.

However you like your toast, and whatever kind of butter you choose, do not take your pleasures lightly.

Here at the Sam house, I couldn't agree more.

The sick house

So I (Sam) have been sick with the flu also (Hi there Amy and family) for the past couple days. After tossing and turning all night two nights ago, I got up at about 5:30 and went to the hospital. I was miserable and needed some sort of relief. They did the throat swab (checking for strep), and the nasal rinse, which is just a load of fun. Well, came back + for the flu. Yippee. They gave me a new medication that is supposed to help, and some for my whole family, so they don't get it. Jill spent 3 hours later that day finding enough of the medication, between 3 pharmacies. Of course, all I can do is lay on the couch, or lay in bed. But today, I am finally feeling better. I am not "better," but I am improving. Good thing I don't have to work until Monday.

Jesus Wants Me for a SunBEAM!

Our little Ashtyn is now a Sunbeam! Yeah! Can you believe it?? We can't. But she is very excited and has been doing great. Today she gave her first talk in Primary. I was up there helping her and I just about started crying because I just felt so proud that she was doing it and that she is such a big girl and that she truly feels the spirit and loves Jesus so much and my heart was just soooo full. As we sat down together to write her talk Sam started asking her some questions to get her going in the direction of her topic. Ashtyn just whipped out answers that made me feel that we are teaching her right and she is learning the things she needs to. Then I wrote the words she was saying and put them into her talk and she did a beautiful job today. We are so proud of our little BIG girl!! We love you Ashtyn!
